Adam Liegner, M.D., M.P.H., a specialist in family medicine and sports medicine, has joined Topsham Family Medicine.
Liegner grew up in New York and attended Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., after which he began graduate studies at The Dartmouth Institute of Health Policy and Clinical Practice in Hanover, N.H. He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York’s Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.
He completed both family medicine residency training and primary care sports medicine fellowship training at Maine Medical Center in Portland and is board-certified in both specialties. Liegner has worked as an event physician for several of Maine’s biggest competitions and sporting events, including the Beach to Beacon road race, the Challenge Maine Family Triathlon, and Portland Pirates hockey games. He also served as co-medical director for the Maine Marathon and the team physician for athletic programs at both Gorham High School and Saint Joseph’s College.
Liegner is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Maine Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Sports Medicine, and American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. His research has been published in medical journals and other professional publications.
Topsham Family Medicine, located in Topsham, offers care to patients of all ages from routine physicals to preventive care, and management of acute and chronic diseases.
