Central Maine Family Medicine Program

76 High Street, Lewiston, ME(207) 795-2800

The Central Maine Family Medicine Residency provides comprehensive primary care services for patients of all ages. They also provide prenatal and obstetrical care and hospital care for adults, children and newborns. Care is delivered by a team of professionals that includes experienced family physicians, family medicine residents (doctors in training), nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, nurses and other clinical staff. This practice also offers osteopathic manipulation, dermatology clinic, weekly procedure clinics (including vasectomy), integrative medicine and a women's health clinic. Group medical appointments are offered for diabetes, chronic pain and suboxone. Walk-in hours are available.

Every physician at Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) holds either a degree of Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). The final phase of medical training for either degree is known as Residency.

Our resident physicians are a select group of new doctors who come to CMMC Family Medicine Residency after having graduated first from college and then from medical school. While these physicians have received their medical degree, they must complete supervised clinical work as a 'Resident' before they can practice independently.

What our team of doctors offer out patients:

  • We can care for you and your family in the office for preventive care, like physicals immunizations and pap smears, as well as when you get sick or hurt.
  • If you get sick enough to need to be in the hospital, we will take care of you there, too.
  • If you or a loved one is pregnant, we can provide all prenatal care and deliver the baby in the hospital (and then take care of the baby too).
  • We care for individuals and families of all ages, from newborn babies to the elderly.
  • We provide mental health services and can help people connect to other services in the community.
  • We provide reproductive healthcare for women and men.
  • We have a dermatologist on staff and can provide basic procedures.
  • We have osteopathic doctors who can do hands-on manipulation to improve various symptoms including pain.
