A message to all CMH providers from Jason Krupp, MD, FACP, President, Central Maine Medical Group
My dear colleagues,
On this National Doctors’ Day, I’m especially grateful to work alongside Central Maine Healthcare’s physicians and associate staff. More than two years into the pandemic, your expertise, resolve and compassion continue to make all the difference for our patients and our communities.
In the United States, the first Doctors’ Day observance took place in 1933. Fifty-seven years later, a resolution to designate National Doctors’ Day was introduced in Congress and signed into law by President George Bush. The resolution speaks about the debt of gratitude that society owes “for the sympathy and compassion of physicians in ministering to the sick and in alleviating human suffering.” Those words ring so true today.
Ever since COVID-19 was first detected in Maine, our providers have battled the coronavirus courageously, confronting challenge after challenge head on. I know that we could not have made it so far without your selfless service, that we did not reach this point without hardship and sacrifice on your part.
I am honored to stand with the providers who have been caring for our patients these many, many months and with the providers who have more recently chosen to join us at Central Maine Healthcare as we work to become the most caring health organization in the state.
As we glimpse the possibility of a return to normalcy, I am hopeful about what we will accomplish together in the future.
I could not be more inspired or grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Sincerely,
Jason
